Does anyone use Science Diet Sensitive Skin dog food? Could you tell me if you think it works?

My dog has seasonal allergies I know that changing his food will not take care of the allergies. I just was wondering if this would help him at all, he is on medication for his allergies which helps tremedously, however he is still itchy not as bad when he is off his meds. I just want to try to make him more comfortable. I read that the Sensitive Skin formula might help. Can anyone tell me if it really works?

Look over the food your feeding now vs SD. Many skin problems with dogs are caused by poor quality dog food. SD is one of those.....junk.

Try CANIDAE or Innova. Much better quality food I bet will help.
Reply:Science Diet sucks - try California Naturals... I heard it is great for dogs with allergies
Reply:I wouldn't use Science Diet anything. One of the first ingredients is corn and your dog is a carnivore. Even people can't digest corn! If you want a food without any grains try Prarie Raw Instinct.
Reply:heard it wasnt that GREAT. try something else.
Reply:It's crap.
Reply:make some scrambled eggs, it helps maintain coat and skin health, or so ive heard. but i do it with my dogs at least once every 2 months and the coat is shiney and has more natural oils in it vs. being dryer than it was be4 i fed them the eggs. worth a shot hope it helps.
Reply:. Nutro is the best food I have found for my dogs, one of whom has an allergy to wheat and the other had grass and flea allergy. No problems anymore at all. You might find that a high quality food works wonders, even for seasonal allergies. Try the lamb and rice or the chicken, rice and oatmeal versions of Nutro. They also make a dry one with herring which my dogs love %26amp; normally they just pick at dry food.
Reply:I've done a lot of reading about foods and since we do not have any stores near us that sell some of the high quality foods mentioned here on Yahoo answers, I needed something that I could purchase at my local stores. We tried Blue Buffalo Lamb and Brown Rice and our newly adopted shih tzu seems to like it.

Blue Buffalo does not use animal by-products and their gluten-free recipes do not contain any artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. Their food also does not have corn, wheat or soy, which have been known to trigger allergies.

You can go to the website: http://www.bluebuff.com and read more about the products they have and request a free sample.
Reply:I don't like it.

Try lamb and rice. Just make it yourself. If not then try canidae canned lamb/rice.
Reply:I know of several dogs that have done really well on it.
