he got a lot of red rashes all over the body...he drinks celestamine to stop the itch and put some creams for the rashes but no use...it doesnt stop...what should i do...
My bf got an skin allergies...how could i treat him without burning his skin?
Have you tried hydrocortizone creams? Or taking Benadryl?
There's not much you can do unless you know what's causing the reaction. IE: If it's his detergent, then change detergents, if it's a carpet cleaner, don't sit on the carpet, if it's something he's eating, then stop, etc.
Be careful though and monitor his rashes to make sure they don't become worse and turn into another serious reaction called anaphylactic shock. Been there, done that.
Reply:It sounds like your boyfriend has eczema, also known as atopic (allergic) dermatitis.
Atopic dermatitis is caused when a person is exposed to an allergen, or something that they're allergic to. This causes the skin to flare into rashes, anywhere from small patches to a full body breakout.
What your boyfriend needs to do first is find out what he's allergic to, he needs to know what triggers his skin to flare up. He can do this by visiting an allergist to be tested.
Before he goes, it would be a good idea for him to keep a journal of everything he eats and to note whether or not he notices his rash flaring up an hour or two after eating. If he eats something and notices that he's breaking out, he should avoid that food - he could be allergic to it.
Eczema can also be caused by environmental, chemical, and ingredient triggers - dust mites, pet dander, skin products, laundry detergents and soaps, etc. He should also note products that he regularly uses and be sure to tell the allergist if he has pets.
The allergist can prescribe medications that will help reduce flare ups and ease itching. The best antihistmine in my experience is called "Atarax". There are special prescription only steroid creams that can be applied to get rid of the rash like Elocon or Elidel.
